Looks like it won't work out to get the G-tube placed at the same time as his lip surgery. Bummer. The surgeon was willing to do it without a pre-op office visit, which was really nice, but the timing just didn't work out on that day between the two doctors' schedules.
So Owen will have another surgery 8 days later on the 25th to have the G-tube placed. It is a fairly simple procedure and should include a day or two in the hospital until his feedings are up to par.
The other option would have been to get his lip surgery rescheduled. But after all we went through to get this date and all the rearranging the doctor had to do to get us in, we're sticking with the date we have.
Thank you for your prayers. This has all been rather a lot to deal with, especially with Eric being gone and unreachable until evening. I have childcare all arranged, thanks to the grandmas. And pre-approval of all the appropriate insurance etc. So we are ready to go. :) Thanks too for all the encouraging emails, calls and notes in the guestbook. They really help.

I just wanted to say that I am in awe of your strength & determination in facing all the obstacles life has been throwing your way. Even though you've had a few setbacks...it sounds as though things are moving forward in a positive direction. You are an incredible mother who deserves a lot of credit...you are an inspiration to many & the kids are so lucky to have you as their Mommy...so I wanted to wish you an early Happy Mother's Day.
We will pray for wonderful outcomes with Owen's upcoming surgeries....and that you, Eric and the kids have safe travels. You both are incredible people...and God will continue to bless your family.
